Attorney David Li was Invited to Share Chinese and Foreign Mutual Recognition of Court Judgments and Practice

On June 20th, 2024, Digtech Law Firm successfully held a "Enterprises Going Global" Series — the Legal Exchange Salon about Enterprises Going to Sea in Shanghai. As the fifth activity of the "Enterprises Going Global" series, David Li, Partner of SGLA Law Firm and Adjunct Professor of the Law School of East China University of Science and Technology, was invited to share about the mutual recognition of Chinese and foreign court judgments. Focusing on the new opportunities and challenges faced by Chinese enterprises on the road of "Going Global", David Li, with the theme of Rules and Practice on Mutual Recognition of Court Judgments between China and Foreign Countries, brought attendees related knowledge, such as the mutual recognition of Chinese and foreign judgments, the application procedures for overseas enforcement, the procedures for the recognition of foreign court judgments in China, procedures for notarization and authentication of legal documents, etc.

Meanwhile, based on his rich professional experience, Attorney Li introduced the cases where the application for the recognition of PRC judgments has been accepted in Italy, Canada and other countries, as well as the cases where the application for the recognition of foreign judgments in the PRC court has been recognized. He reviewed the mutual recognition rules and procedures between China and foreign jurisdiction in detail, analyzed the difficulties encountered in the cases one by one according to the documents required to be submitted in the recognition procedure of various countries, and shared the ideas and precious experiences on overcoming difficulties and difficulties when communicating with the courts and clients in the process of handling cases.
